AIS Automotive and Industrial Supply is teaming up with the Ogden School district to provide internship opportunities for high school students. The program STEM (stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) helps give students on-hand experience with the subjects they learn in school by applying skills at local businesses.

If there was ever an industry that needed new on-hand training classes for the next generation of workers it would be the auto-repair industry. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the auto-repair industry is projected to grow faster than the average for all occupations from 2014 to 2024. Many experienced auto-repair technicians are on the verge of retirement, there is a decline of newly qualified/trained auto-repair technicians, and there is continual growth of number of vehicles on the road. The industry is in need for trained technicians and our customers have stepped in to help.

Our customers have stepped in to provide their facilities as a training ground for these students to develop their education in auto-body-repair work. Our first group of students have already begun their initial Job Skills course and will be on site beginning the end of February.

If you’d like to learn more about the STEM program and how to participate, please email Brandon Beardsley at, or Jeff Henderson at

As this program continues to unfold AIS will provide more information online at, Facebook, and Instagram.
